Completing the DegreeTo obtain the BAAS degree, three categories must be satisfied:
AAS Degree
Completion of an AAS degree, prerequisites for graduation with an AAS or an equivalent, as approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
The degree requires compliance with the general UTB/TSC procedures and regulations for all bachelor’s degrees, as explained under Academic Requirements in the catalog of The University of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College.
General Education Core
Completion of the UTB/TSC General Education Core. If you are transferring from an articulation college (please visit the link above to see the list of articulation colleges), and your AAS transcript states “General Education Core Completed,” the General Education Core transfers into the Bachelors of Applied Technology.
Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences Specialization Area(s)
Completion of BAAS specialization with academic coursework that is approved on an official program of study, signed by the student and the BAAS Academic Advisor.
